A MUSE is the BEST

  • AMUSE: COULDN'T DO THIS WITHOUT THEM
Yay! I can finally mention who is our exclusive distributor. A Muse Art Stamps, of course. Chosen for their excellent customer service and first and foremost the gals are just so kind and helpful. Oh, and their products are always top notch too--The note cards and embellishments are so versatile. They can be use with The Saltbox Studio art in "A Muse Style" or in a more vintage "shabby" style for a whole different look. THANK YOU, LINDA

the craft industry and a sneak peek

  Moopost Cowpreview
One thing I adore about the craft industry (no matter which facet-needle arts, stamping...)  it's an industry where life long friends are made.  I know there are lots of copycats and the like, but, the  sweet people far outweigh no matter how ugly it gets.  Over the past few days I have had people I have known since I began working in the industry (needle arts side) touch base with me and I them.  I believe in God moments and they have been happening lately in obvious ways for me.
It's so wonderful to talk with and meet with these ladies again, and  to think we didn't have email, forums, blogs or cell phones... when we met!

I posted a photo of a cross stitch design I did in the very early 1990's.  People from the England and Ireland still request this design.  It's something about farm for them--  I have also posted the "cow" image which will release in the "Farm Friends" set due out it  late July.  (I flat colored it for protective copyright reasons)--   Thought you might be inspired or get a laugh.  I am definitely going to create The Saltbox Studio cow into cross stitch--  By the way,  I colored the wheat gold and green because if you use green it becomes corn...

Yes, MAry Rose- pink and brown do get to me, but, not when you and Becky create with it.  Right now I am into navy blue, royal blue and white.

Link for purchase added

Hi all.  I have added a temporary way to purchase this fun Hen and Chicks set.  The link is to the right under the Shop online.
Hopefully, the horrible outburst of head lice at the children's school(see A Muse blog) and A Museapalooza  being in full gear now will free up the web person  soon to get this set added correctly.  Until then, I appreciate your patience for the temporary solution.
Blessings,
Beth

The Roost

Does anyone wish for the simple life every so often?  To be a farm chick?I suppose I could never go to the "simple" life of churning my own butter and all those country living type tasks--that definitely would not be simple for me-- but, oh, how I wish I lived in a smaller town with access to the the farm rural life.   I covet (I know I shouldn't)  Mary Rose's new "suburb" where she resides, just outside of Indianapolis.  Heck, the needlework shop has bible studies. I couldn't ask for anything more.    It truly is a small town by a big city--
I cannot wait to go visit her.

Here is another sneak peek of our "in between release".

I'm back- barely

Farm chick postbk I wanted to touch base before we head out to church this am. Peter and I had a lovely time in Alabama.  I must say I LOVE the South.  Their manners, kindness and friendliness are always an inspiration. Oh, and Mobile, AL is part of the Bible Belt. What a comfort living their would be.  People don't just greet you with "Hello", they seem to always add "God bless your day"--I was at one of the  Lifeway Christian bookstores down their and it was busier than a grocery store!  Plus, their were so many men shopping on their lunch hour.  It was the coolest.  The store  has winged back chair seating in many different areas and instead of reading,  people just "sit a spell" and tell you their life story. I learned a lot.

A large part of our trip was visiting the USS Alabama/Memorial Park.  I have so much to say about it and numerous photos too.

I have another announcement.  Starting on Monday, I will have my own personal blog. (Which by the way I'll expand on the Southern people I met --)  Since this one is a bit more business oriented and "Saltbox" focused, I thought it was time to create a blog where I could let y'all see a bit more of me and my passions.  It will connect to The Saltbox Studio more too.  You see, I am not a stamper.  Illustrator, yes; Needle artist and Designer, yes; Paper Arts Designer, yes--Paper Arts Crafter, no.  It's why my tutorials are all "artist" based and why I depend on my Design Team so very much.  Oh, I can sketch out what I want a card or design to be, but, truth be known, I'd rather someone else create it because then I get to see a part of them come to life...

The Design Team will be posting Sneak Peeks on Tuesday of our "in between" release.  I just had to post one now!  Can you guess who made this stinkin' cute card?  By the way, I love every single  sample I've received.  Could it be the Midwestern in me?

As promised

I promised I would post the titles of the new  sets coming out in the next release a couple weeks ago.   This is going to be a fun
very true to a Saltbox/primitive/Americana release.  It's my favorite so far.  I just finished watching the John Adams series on HBO.  Loved it.

As you probably have gathered by now I am an American history buff-having Philadelphia (main line) a huge part of my childhood.  I am actually a Daughter of the American Revolution.  (It's a lineage thing)-  I love the 4th of July and all, so, these sets are totally up my alley.  A few years back I took my boys to Philadelphia the week of the fourth.  In Independence Square outside Independence Hall they reenact  the reading of the Declaration to the public for the first time with crowds cheering and all-- it's so cool.  One thing many do not realize it was actually a few days later  (July 8) when the formal announcement of our independence to the people was done.  Not the 4th.  Now don't panic because the Declaration was signed on the 4th.  The first newspaper to print the Declaration was the Pennsylvania Evening Post on the 6th...

Here are the titles:
Long May She Wave-July Banner
Willow House-June Banner
Hens and Chicks
Farm Friends
Barnyard
Americana Summer
Americana Companion
