I love bees and the colors yellow and black together. I collect beehives and such for y Summer decor I put out each year. So, I had to post this card today. It's cheerful and sooo summery. The 80 degree weather is finally here-- Whoohooo!
One of the goals for the Mama Mouse set was to offer you a set that could be used for baby, kids, & Mom's. The Saltbox Studio's feel doesn't always lend itself to "baby". I think Elena and Becky have really made the baby theme shine. This particular card is by Elena. Perfect for a boy. This design is easily adaptable for pink or yellow in place of the blue. Elena's simple design really highlights the image. Word "baby" and baby mouse are both from the Mama Mouse and More Set.
The contest is going strong. Remember it doesn't end until midnight.
Sometimes it's nice to have an image to just use as is. I am finding the more I "color" the more I like to just be able to use the image on it's own. Speed is often the reason as well. Our May release will have what I consider self standing images. I try to integrate them in the SBS line so there is something for those who like to "build", and for those who like to just stamp and color...
Our April release has both building type sets and a few images that stand alone.
Lexi assigned our DT the flower basket to be the only image in a card. You saw Lexi's with the basket and her Sunflower creation in a previous post. Today I have posted Becky's. Enjoy!
Well, I really goofed. I was working on part two of the tutorial and forgot to photograph the other parts. So, I now have to do another. In the meantime, I have posted a very simple, yet elegant way to use markers. I think you might find it quite handy for a quick card. Although it's a snowman and I just can't bare to think of winter again, I decided to post it because it gives you a example of using light colored markers for outlining and a touch of fill. There is an outline around the outside of the snowman using Brick white. The photo does not show it so well. Check out an earlier post here of the colors I use for this look.
Just wanted to get a design up tonight for y'all. The tone on tone is a nice, simple change from many of the cards I see.
Thanks, Elena. Be sure to check out our Peek of the Week. Elena has a darling basket with clovers in it for St. Pat's day.
